Today, September 27, we joyfully commemorate the centenary of Fred Lyon, who was born on September 27, 1924. We honor Lyon’s extraordinary contributions to the photography world and inspiring those in the San Francisco Bay Area, allowing all of us a glimpse of what life was once like in this incredible city from the 1940’s onward. With a life and career that left us with photographs from near and far, Fred Lyon left an indelible mark, continuing to inspire artists and admirers alike.
Though Lyon is no longer with us, his spirit lives on through his incredible archive of photography. We feel so lucky to have had the opportunity to collaborate with Peter Fetterman Gallery on several Fred Lyon exhibitions and events over the years. Let us celebrate the brilliance, passion, and beauty he brought into the world.
We invite you to view this selection of photographs sharing some of Lyon’s most iconic scenes captured with his cameras.
Join us in paying tribute to Fred Lyon and the legacy he left behind.
With joy and remembrance!
