Leica.Connect | Experiencing the Leica SL3-P San Francisco with Dave Herring
On Saturday, August 29, two groups of eager photographers wanting to learn more about the Leica SL3-P spent the day with local Leica Photographer Dave Herring.

Dave Herring gave a brief presentation about his experience with the Leica SL3-P and shared his honest thoughts with the new camera after his dissatisfaction with the previous SL2 generation.
After the presentation, Dave shared his user settings for the Leica SL3-P to maximize the updated autofocus capabilities. One of his most helpful tips is to set the camera AF mode to “AF-C”, prioritize the “Zone” Setting, then on the LCD while shooting, press and hold the zone icon to expand the prefered zone to the entire screen. This creates a parameter in which the auto focus can prioritize what is in the selected Zone area.
After each group had time to configure their loaner camera to their liking, we set out to Union Square, just a few blocks away, to make some photos! We were also joined by Rob Passman and Ray Olson, of Leica Camera USA, to answer any and all questions as well as provide tech support on the walk.
Don’t forget to check out Dave Herring’s photos and full in-depth video on the Leica SL3-P!
Thank you again to Dave Herring for sharing his insights and journey back to the Leica SL system.
Special thanks to the photographers who joined us, as well as Rob Passman and Ray Olson .
