Celebrating One Year of Camera West In SoHo
On Friday, October 16th, we reached an important milestone for our SoHo store—our one-year anniversary! That’s right, we can’t believe it either, but it’s already been a full lap of the Sun for us in New York City, so we decided to invite some friends and throw ourselves a party to celebrate.
While Camera West was founded in California in the year 2000 and has grown steadily ever since, we didn’t become a true bicoastal business until we moved into our SoHo space in 2025. With only a year under our belt in Manhattan, we can’t call ourselves venerable New Yorkers just yet, but all the same, it was nice to reminisce and rub elbows with our friends, old and new.
To mark the occasion, we opened our doors after hours and mixed it up with some of our favorite regulars, members of the NYC photo community, and the larger CW family. Attendees enjoyed refreshments and conversation, and we had some special cameras and lenses on display that you had to see in person to believe.
Representatives from Leica, Fujifilm, Light Lens Lab, and more were on hand, which we greatly appreciated. On our walls we put up works from clients like Mark De Paola, Mathieu Bitton, Mark Mann, Richard Tran, John Cirone, and Yale Goodman, as well as photos from our team, which can be viewed and bid on here via auction.
Overall, we had a wonderful night, and were honored to be surrounded by such great people that we call our pals. Here’s to many more years in SoHo!
