On Saturday, July 19, 2025, Bae Area Film and Leica Store San Francisco teamed up for a special summer photowalk! This time with a twist!
We shook things up with an assignment-based photowalk that blends the fun of a scavenger hunt and the structure of a bingo card. Attendees were challenged to interpret prompts creatively and photograph with intention, whether they were shooting 35mm, medium format, instant film, a seasoned shooter, or just getting started with photography (film or digital), allowing folks to connect, explore, and create.

12:30 PM | Meet at Leica Store San Francisco to pick up your mission card and raffle ticket.
Over 100 Participants gathered at Leica Store San Francisco where they received a raffle ticket and awaited further instruction on the mission card. Carlo (Leica Store SF) alongside Tofé and Maggie (from Bae Area Film) briefed the group on the bingo card and photowalk structure.
The card was specifically develop for participants to engage with their fellow photographers and their surroundings while stepping out of their comfort zone in the spirit of exploration and community. It was up to the individual photographer or pair up in groups to determine how they would like to check off their card and plan their route through Chinatown, Financial District, and North Beach.
1:00 PM | We hit the streets!
The large group got to work and quickly split off as they left the store. They began their game plans and strategies to check off their mission card weaving through the different locations listed in the card.
There were many familiar faces at and in between locations as we followed along and navigated the mission card.
3:15–3:30 PM | Regroup at the Washington Square Park for a live raffle
The groups slowly reconvened at the south end of Washington Square Park where they shared their experience on the walk, talked gear, and refueled with snacks in anticipation for the raffle to begin.
Three lucky winners received a Candido Film + Made in Wetzlar prize pack! The pack consisted of 3 rolls of Candido film (one of each film speed) and a Made in Wetzlar 35mm film holder. Congrats to each lucky winner!
