On October 23, 2025, we were honored to host the opening reception and book launch for Flower(s) — Vol. 1 by Teresa Freitas, published by Four Eyes Editions.
Thank you to everyone who joined us for this special evening with Teresa as she shared insights into her art practice and the process behind creating this beautiful book. The inaugural volume of her new series explores the safflower (Carthamus tinctorius) in Japan’s Yamagata Prefecture, a region celebrated for its rich traditions of textile dyeing and beauty rituals. Through a poetic blend of documentary and visual storytelling, Freitas captures the cultural significance of the safflower, revealing its vivid spirit and the lives of those who nurture it.
Signed copies of Flower(s) — Vol. 1 are now available at Leica Store San Francisco and on our website. Get yours while they last!
